London Cocktail Week

Last updated: 15 July 2023

London Cocktail Week is back again for one week only. For anyone that’s been abstaining for Dryathlon throughout September, October is a welcome return of the warm embrace of a tipple.

Similar to previous years pop up bars, masterclasses, events and tours are all on the agenda for the year’s week of hedonism.

Fancy a drink in a loo?  Well that’s on offer in Kentish Town!  Plenty of fantastic bars will be popping-up all around London to create delicious cocktails to tantalise your tastebuds and line your livers along with masterclasses with some of the world’s biggest brand names.

What’s your flavour?

Craft gin? American whiskey? Scottish spirits?  All available to savour and experience and everything in between.

Some of the industry’s finest bartenders will battle it out in a beer pong style tournament at London Cocktail Club. However, there’s no beer here.  It’s all cocktail and all class.

As always Soho is a hub.  Old Spitalfields Market will play host to a cocktail village with pop-up bars, trucks and other creations serving specially created cocktails. Mussel Men in Dalston are running the Scottish Invasion with a spectacular super sunday seafood roast with Bowmore.

More on the Scottish theme, as it’s the Year of Food and Drink in Scotland, why not sign up for A History of Scottish Drinks in 90 minutes.

What’s in a wristband?

These babies will set you back a tenner but they have their benefits.  Hundreds of bars around the city will be serving £5 cocktails to wristband wearers.

Along with cheap bevis, wristband wearers can also gain free entry into Be At One Spitalfields as twelve of Europe’s top mixologists will be going head to head for the Great British Shake Off.

    1. That’s totally acceptable! I noticed there’s cocktails with all kinds of ingredients for all palettes. Everything from chocolate, sweet, sour citrus, all designed to let your imagination wander.

    1. OMG you totally do! If you have a look online, you can get wristbands for a fiver.

Shame about all this rain though. Doesn’t make rooftop bars all that appealing does it!

  1. Ohh nice. I am not much of a drinker but that’s usually because I don’t like the taste of most drinks such as beer, cocktails on the other hand, love them!! All the flavours and combinations, mmm!

    1. Hows that knee Nic? Everyone can find ‘something’ on a cocktail list they like. Favourite flavour(s)? I’m a lime girl myself. Love the stuff, can’t get enough of it!

    1. Gin, how quintessentially English! 🙂 Grab yourself a wristband to sample the best of the best.

  2. Nice event! I would definitely try this while in London. Although my main drink is beer 🙂 But… I think I would survive one day without beer. 🙂

    1. Looks really fun right?! It’s also a great opportunity to explore new drinking holes you’d normally not visit, or more fancy places generally outside your budget. 🙂
